I won a bag of coffee at a luncheon and honestly had never heard of Lake City Coffee. I brewed a pot today and absolutely love it. I will definitely be ordering more. Great to be able to buy local….
I thought the Nicaraguan was fab; geez, the Costa Rica beans were an incredible step up!!!
I especially love this CR coffee. As much as I loved the Nicaraguan beans, this roast is much more clear and clean without sacrificing that delicious deep flavor.
5 stars!!! Yummy!!!
This Majestic Medium is my all time favorite.
I have had the pleasure of Russell’s coffee-Lake City Coffee for over a year. We usually order 15 -to 20 lbs. MANY OF OUR BUSINESS ASSOCIATES “LOVE IT”
the dark roast is some of the best coffee I have ever had. And the price is great too!
Cold Brew Coffee Idea
I found another cold brew coffee idea this morning at Nordstrom’s cold brew with a touch of agava and a slice of orange, shaken. No milk products. Surprisingly good and even less calories. Remember, it’s all about low calorie choices… plus it’s only 11:30 in the morning!
This delicious coffee is exactly as described and smelling it’s enticing aroma in the morning is a real pleasure that helps to set a cheerful, promising tone to the start of our days. Drinking that first cup certainly qualifies as the “ahhhhh” moment these fine roasters intended, as well. We will definitely be loyal customers!
The best Coeur d’Alene coffee roasters that I’ve had are from Lake City Coffee. Russell is very knowledgeable and quality oriented. Wonderful full bodied taste – no bitterness!
It’s that rich, dark aroma that wafts from my percolating bialetti coffee maker in the morning that gently snaps my eyelids open, tantalizes my taste buds, sets me up for a new, happy day. Welcome, Patti! We’re gonna have a great day and start it with this rich, dark, hot cup of the most satisfying coffee, brimming with flavor, reminding me of why we appreciate people who know how to lovingly grow coffee , how to harvest it, and how there are special people who know how to roast it to perfection. Every morning I give thanks to that person who made my cup of coffee perfection.
Wonderful taste, I don’t like bitter, this hits the mark.
Both my wife and myself find Lake Cities Dark Roast the best to be found in all of North Idaho. we would advise anybody to try all their coffees . It starts the day off on the right foot.
I was a star bucks fan until I brewed up my dark roast Lake City coffee what a difference I thought coffee was coffee but I now know what truly good coffee taste like no more Starbucks for me!
I learned about Lake City Coffee from their ads on KOOL 107.1 and I was getting ready to place an order when I won the radio contest and the prize was 2 lbs of Lake City Coffee. They sent a pound each of the dark and medium. I liked both but between the 2, I prefer the medium, it’s great!. I am now a customer and will continue to purchase from them. Thanks Russell
Enjoy the Mild and Medium blends mixed together. Makes a great cup of coffee. Also great by themselves.
Got through all the grocery store coffee and finally broke out the “Delectable Dark” this morning. Wow… It’s aptly named! It’s robust without any of that burnt/bitterness. Instead, it has a delicious sweet note to it, and if you make it on the bold side, it even hints at a tad of dark cocoa in there somewhere 🙂 And it’s tastes so bright and fresh. We love it—thank you!
My partner and I really enjoy the full body taste of Lake City’s Majestic Medium Roast. It works equally well in a drip coffee machine or as a cold brewed coffee. Thanks to Russel and Alicia fork roasting great coffee and they have excellent customer service.
Really enjoy the different flavor bites and the lack of bitterness. Still trying to adjust for optimum potency for me and my partner. Also want to thank you for the small bag of delectable dark as well. Both of us enjoy both of these flavors and look forward to buying more of your coffee in the future. We wish you well.
The owner Russell dropped off a bag for me back in November. I absolutely loved it. I drink a lot of coffee and I am picky about the flavor. This coffee was perfect. He came to my work today and delivered another bag…. and it was still warm from being roasted! You can’t just go anywhere and get coffee that fresh! Thank you Russell!!!
I’m an avid coffee drinker and can be very picky. Lake City Coffee is sooooo good! I highly recommend trying a cup. You’ll get hooked.
Russell Volz from Lake City Coffee emailed me the other day, and exclaimed that he was roasting the beans just before packing the bags, and then sending my package off.
The bags came via Fed-Ex Ground, and were here on the next day. I wasn’t expecting the package so early, so I assumed it was another business related package and set it off to the side.
I kept smelling this wonderful coffee aroma floating around, and was excited to see that it was the Lake City package. I opened it immediately in order to stick my nose right in one of those bags; it smelled slightly charred, which I like. The beans were a deep brownish/black color, with oily spots on a shiny surface
I hoped it wasn’t too burnt, as I believe that many roasters think that people who like a dark roast like a black-burnt roast. Not so… I look at it similarly to roasting a marshmallow. I like a beautifully browned roasted marshmallow, which takes time and effort; not the easily burnt ones that anybody can simply stick in a fire.
I was pleased this morning that the taste was exactly the way it smelled; bittersweet, like the chocolate. Wonderful.
Thanks to Lake City Coffee for the happy morning.
This is now my favorite coffee!! I love rich coffee but hate burnt taste. My morning coffee is sometimes the only quiet peaceful moment of my day. This coffee is a pleasurable way to start my day!
A while ago I asked about flavored coffee. I love the variety of buying flavored coffee, yet hate the syrups that require you to add them after the coffee is made. I’m diabetic and have to restrict my sugar intake, especially in the morning. Syrups take a zero calorie beverage to half my daily allotment of sugar and calories. But, flavored coffee is usually made from cheap over roasted beans because the flavor hides the taste of an inferior product.
I started experimenting with Lake City Coffee beans to add flavor without a lot of calories. Before brewing, I added 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract and a scant sprinkle of cinnamon to the ground coffee in the coffee maker. I’ve also tried adding Ghirardelli sweet ground chocolate and cocoa to the ground coffee before brewing. To this I’ve tried a variety of extracts. So far my favorite is the chocolate with orange extract.
I have been drinking White Lightening for a couple of years now. I love it and so does my cranky belly. Easy to grind as I go, works great in my reuseable k-cup. I my order came today, it was roasted yesterday! I love this company!
The best coffee ever. It’s always really fresh. I just love smelling the beans. I like to buy 10 bags at a time to give to friends, family and patients. And Russell is a great guy to do business with.
Great coffee. Friendly business. Love it!
Ordered Majestic Medium and just love it. I can really tell the difference from other coffees. Since medium roast has a little more caffeine than darker roasts I am finding I don’t drink as many cups each day but each cup I do drink is really enjoyable.
I meant to give Russ and Lake City Coffee a 5-star review so here it is. See my previous review.
I thought Vietnamese coffee was the best but the Delectable Dark is just as good if not better and it is available! I used to drink the Vietnamese style cafe den da which means black coffee poured over ice. It was and still is my preferred coffee drink. I tried the same drink with the Lake City Delectable Dark and it was truly enjoyable. I have tried it black, with sweetener and black poured over ice cubes. It makes a great coffee drink.
I can’t say enough how great this coffee is! We don’t get to buy it often but when we do it is such a treat! I feel so spoiled when I get it! Sooo worth it. I also bought some espresso roast for my sister in law so I’m excited to introduce her to it!
I’ve got to say! Even though I think of your coffee as “best when fresh,” it’s still better to than other coffee even when it’s not “fresh.” This last holiday season we ended up with a lot of pounds of coffee from multiple sources so it has taken us A LOT longer than normal to go through your stuff. One reason we love a coffee we get from Costco (San Francisco bay) is because its oily which just tastes MAGICAL in a French press. After your coffee got a couple months old in our airtight containers, it got oily, and we were so happy to see we found it is still better than San Francisco Bay coffee. Just thought you should know! I feel like we are breaking rules but your coffee still reigns!
Like doggie Zen in the morning. Nice cup of coffee ZEN.
We just received the box of coffee and it smells amazing. Can’t wait to try it in the morning.
My title says it all and that’s all i have to say about the matter… You should have some daily.
Fantastic brew. This deep dark rich grind has light elements of citrus and sweet on the finish to accompany a bold, intense offering of coffee goodness. If you want to honest about your coffee drinking, serve yourself up a cup of this authentic genuine celebration of caffeine.
I recently had the opportunity to try the dark roast and the best I can say is, “Wow!” That is probably the most smooth cup of coffee I’ve had the pleasure of drinking, with a ton of flavor and without the bitterness you usually get with the ‘other guys’. The smell was delicious when it arrived and couldn’t wait to give it a whirl. I have never had more fresh, delicious tasting coffee and will definitely recommend Lake City Coffee to my friends. I look forward to trying the other verities, I will most assuredly order again.
Lake City Coffee’s White Lightning is the best coffee beans on the planet. I am a huge fan of white coffee, and until now I could only get it at coffee shops. I am so happy I tried this coffee in Greenbluff, the White Lightening is absolutely delicious! I am sitting here enjoying my cup as we speak.
I hadn’t ever tried fresh Coeur d’Alene Coffee before, nor did I know coffee basically goes stale about two weeks after roasting. I first saw this coffee in the local honey store but didn’t buy it, then I found a stand at green bluff where they were giving out free samples of their coffee that had just been roasted and packaged that morning. I sampled all three roasts: white lightning, majestic medium, and delectable dark. They’re all so good and the smell is just incredible! I appreciated the amount of education that went into the company and that they shared their knowledge in order to sell their coffee. I purchased a bag of the medium roast and am thoroughly enjoying it from the French press as I type this. I like the flavor so much I don’t care to add sugar or cream. No bitterness, very smooth and rich flavor. I will be purchasing again!
